Tracerco is proud to spotlight Shariq Ameen, our Key Account Manager based in Saudi Arabia, who plays a vital role in promoting our Process Diagnostics services across oil, gas, Petrochemical and chemical plants in the region. With a career built on technical expertise and relationship-building, Shariq exemplifies the values and impact of working at Tracerco.
Graduating with a mechanical engineering degree in 2005, Shariq’s journey began in procurement at LG India, followed by sales and development roles at REDA Oilfield, where he first encountered Tracerco. That connection led him to join the company in Qatar, selling Process Diagnostics, Instruments, and Monitors. After gaining further experience at Seven Seas Petroleum and Spirax Sarco, Shariq returned to Tracerco in May, bringing with him a wealth of regional insight and customer-focused drive.
“What might surprise people about my role,” Shariq shares, “is how much relationship-building is involved. In Saudi Arabia, reaching decision-makers means working with many people across a company to build trust and alignment.”
His favourite part of the job? “It’s all about the relationships, building trust and creating wins for both sides. My passion isn’t just the sale; it’s the technical journey that leads to it.”

Shariq’s approach is grounded in negotiation, emotional intelligence, and exceeding customer expectations. His advice to those considering a similar role: “Be proactive and patient. Understand that people have different mindsets and adapt your approach accordingly, and always keep regional challenges in mind.”
One of his proudest memories is a fast-paced project with SABIC, where he championed a critical $200,000 job that had to be completed within a week. “I was convinced it was the right solution for the customer. With careful coordination and trust, we delivered, and the customer was satisfied.”
Outside of work, Shariq is an accomplished scuba diver and is now pursuing his tandem skydiving licence. His favourite place to visit is Mauritius, and he admits with a laugh that TikTok is his most-used app.
If he could swap jobs with anyone, it would be the Chief Minister of my State. “I care deeply about my country and state. Education & Medical needs serious attention, and I’d want to create a fairer, more inclusive system. I believe real change is possible with the right leadership.”
