Merlin, a Technical Sales Specialist from our Radiation Monitors team in Abu Dhabi, recently returned from a four-week placement in the UK. With a background in electronics, radiation protection, and nuclear science, she saw the programme as a chance to broaden her perspective and connect with colleagues from across the business.
“This opportunity exceeded my expectations,” Merlin shares. “It gave me international exposure, helped me build strong cross-functional relationships, and strengthened my confidence in working across cultures and business environments.”
While in the UK, Merlin took part in the 2025 SRP Annual Conference where she engaged with regulators, industry experts, and peers on the future of radiation protection. She also had the chance to connect with senior leaders and gain insight into Tracerco’s innovation roadmap and global business strategy during our Strategy Week.
“It was eye-opening to see how different teams contribute to our shared goals, each in their own valuable way,” she says.
Her time in the UK was not just about technical knowledge, it was also a chance to experience our culture in a different setting. From working alongside product development, legal, and finance teams, to joining STEM outreach efforts and learning from colleagues across the business, Merlin embraced every opportunity to learn and contribute.
“I really admired the openness, inclusive communication culture in the UK office. Leaders worked side by side with their teams, and there was a genuine focus on wellbeing and teamwork.”
Merlin is now focused on bringing these best practices back to the Middle East. She aims to promote STEM outreach, encourage inclusive leadership, and strengthen open communication within her team. She is also eager to inspire future talent by building connections with local schools and universities.
“I have returned with new energy, fresh ideas, and a stronger network. I’m proud to work for a company that supports growth, values, diversity, and encourages us to think globally.”
