After years of reliable service in some of the world's most demanding environments, it's time for our first-generation Personal Electronic Dosimeter (PED1) to transition out of our main product line. We are announcing this planned transition over the next eight months as we fully move to the next generation of our personal radiation monitoring devices: Personal Electronic Dosimeters Gen 2 (PED2).

A legacy worth celebrating

Tracerco™ PED1 has been a trusted companion for thousands of radiation safety professionals — from offshore oil platforms to nuclear facilities and emergency response teams. Its straightforward design and rock-solid reliability helped redefine what personal radiation device could be. We are genuinely proud of how it has kept people safe across the globe.

But technology moves forward, and so do we.

Meet the PED2: Everything you loved, plus everything you asked for

We listened to your feedback over the years, and Tracerco™ PED2 delivers on what matters most to you in the field:

  • No more hunting for batteries – rechargeable and replaceable options give you the flexibility you need
  • Actually readable in any light – high-resolution color display that adapts from bright sunlight to dimly lit spaces
  • Modern connectivity – USB-C means faster, reliable and more convenient data transfer
  • Software that makes sense – enhanced dose history and integration features that actually help your workflow
  • Built for everyone – whether you are highly technical or just need the essentials, the interface works for you
  • Certified for the tough stuff – ATEX, IECEx, and CSA approved for hazardous environments

Teams across NDT, industrial, and emergency response sectors are already making the switch and telling us it feels familiar yet noticeably better. The PED2 is not just a new radiation monitor, it's smarter and more intuitive dosimeter designed to meet the needs of modern fieldwork.

Here's How the Transition Works

We're not leaving anyone behind. Here's the timeline:

Here's How the Transition Works

If you have PED1 devices: Nothing changes immediately. Full support continues, accessories remain available, and your devices keep working exactly as they always have.

If you're planning ahead: Our team is here to help with the transition. We'll provide training, answer questions, and make sure the switch fits your timeline and budget.

About DoseVision2 integration: We're working on bringing PED1 support into the DoseVision2 platform so you can manage both device types together during the transition. We'll keep you posted as this develops.
